Our democracy is on thin ice these days. Women have no rights over their own bodies, voting rights are being undermined, our schools are being infiltrated by people who view real history as somehow upsetting to ‘the children.” Books are being banned. Violence is at an all time high. We have a humanitarian crisis at our borders. The poor are getting poorer while the rich get richer.

I have said this before but I will say it again — it seems that in order to fundraise off these issues, our congress makes a decision not to address them in any serious manner other than lip service. Our excuse now is that the congress is in the hands of the GOP. And at its head is a seriously crazy evangelical Christian, only 3 steps away from being president of the United States. (or should I say2?)

Many members of the GOP led congress should have been tried for voting to overthrow an election, including the new speaker. Our justice department is afraid to be called partisan if they say or do anything, and the man who is our AG has said he will quit if Biden asks him to do anything about Trump — Trump who has created a violent and chaotic country with his rhetoric and was instrumental in an attempt to overthrow an election, apparently can never be brought to justice. But there are civil cases pending and I feel that the noose is tightening.
