Be cynical...when friends tell me things are looking up for the midterms my mind goes wider to the underbelly of what's going on here--the people who are armed with AK's aren't going away. The Supreme Court isn't going away, Trump isn't going away--Maga craziness isn't going away. The red states are making it impossible for Dems to win--and these states want the federal government gone. Every day I'm in shock at what people are getting away with. We have several insurrectionists in congress--how can that be allowed? Isn't it treason? The thing that bothers me the most is the simple idea of justice in a country that has become hateful and divided and totally without shame. Freedom of speech does not count when hate-mongering ruins people's lives. Kids go by me on their bicycles and give me the finger when I'm walking my dog--why? I have no idea.

If we win congress in November will any of this change? And what happens if we get Trump or Desantos in 2024? The electoral college isn't going away. The rich get richer as the rest of us get poorer...I'm seeking help for my rising anxiety--I've had it since 2016 but it's getting worse. Things here are getting worse, not better.
