CHAOS

I am only going to touch on what is pulling me down into the hole that is our politics:

Biden has now decided to build more wall, and has waived 26 laws to do so. I am infuriated. He promised not to build one more foot of this ill-conceived wall. Is it because of the next showdown regarding government shutdown? Is he caving to the bullies? And how is it that he can just waive a bunch of laws???? I sent a letter to the Biden administration. I hope he got thousands. I also contacted EarthJustice who had already posted about this — they are NOT in favor. Neither are those of us who care about the environment and animal migration and private property and the wildlife preserve they will be bulldozing through.

My question is: Why can’t we come up with a few men and women wise enough to think strategically about what we as a country stand for and actually discuss immigration policies? — how about we form a committee and take a few months, maybe even a year, and come up with a few ideas that are not just stopgap measures? We’ve been putting bandaids on it and kicking the can down the road for years! And a wall is not a solution. Nor is razor wire in a river. These people are in dire straits — coming here to escape any number of horrible conditions.
