I just asked google how many current Republican house members have college degrees. Apparently google either doesn’t have the answer or wants to confuse with me with data I did not ask for. We just went through the most contentious battle for speakership in over a hundred years. Why? Because a minority fringe has taken over. Lauren Boebert got her GED just before she ran for congress. I am not saying that not having a degree makes you an imbecile (although in this case it does) but rather not being able to think critically can lead to fuzzy thinking and the adoption of ideas that that are simply not true. And the weirdest thing of all is that no amount of information to the contrary can budge these people from the positions they hold.
Hatred is brought on by fear. Fear of the other, fear of loss of power. Many of these people in congress are working the system. They know better but they are appealing to a portion of society who are terrified and more than likely uneducated. When did education become the boogyman? Elitism is now equated with education, as though people who can think are the ones ruining everything. Look at Tucker Carlson. He knows better — he’s not dumb.
