Consequences of Chaos

Gaia waits while humans battle it out on the planet, trying to deny what will surely be the end of us all. In this country we have the rich denying that climate change exists because to acknowledge the truth, they would have to give up their money-making schemes that depend on fossil fuels. And that goes for congress as well as the corporations who run this country. We have people who believe that Biden is not the legitimate president and a party that is setting it up so that they will win elections from now on — illegally, I might add. They are putting into place rules that give them the right to call election foul if their candidates don’t win. They are already crying foul over elections that are over a year away. This is scary stuff for many reasons.

Republican led state legislatures in Texas and other red states are trying to make it impossible for a woman to exercise her constitutional right to an abortion — this despite Roe STILL being the law of the land. We have no voting rights act because republicans in congress don’t want one. Why? Because their party is hard at work to suppress the vote. And don’t get me started on gerrymandering, the electoral college and the filibuster. If we had popular vote only, there would have been many more democrats elected to the presidency.
