Do the democrats want to lose?

On abortion rights: The democrats, instead of trying to get the original bill passed, changed things and in so doing they lost the two Republican votes they would have had, plus Joe Manchin. For once I agree with Joe. . .

Do they want to lose? Because from everything I heard before they supposedly tried to get this bill through the senate, they knew it didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell. They expanded it to include things that no Republican would ever agree to. Is this a tactic to be able to blame the Republicans for abortion rights being stripped away? Yes, it is the GOP who are doing this, but can this tactic get the dems through the midterms? Why take a chance like this? Why not get the bill passed so there is no more question about it? What about Biden’s promise to get paid parental leave? Without access to abortion we will really need some support. But no. Instead we are all on tenterhooks wondering what will happen if and when the GOP takes over congress. And there we’ll be, hung out on a limb as it gets sawed off.

This game being played out in front of our eyes, is no longer a joke. We are set to turn into a third world country with little to no rights.
