For some reason I got obsessed with Turkey day this year--I am over it now. I like what you said about our Puritan ancestors--bunch of lies made to make us all feel better about ourselves--there seems to be a lot of that going on right now. I wish I could give up shopping at Christmas but I have grandchildren...trying to look at things from a wider perspective because getting down in the muck is not good for my health. We all need a break.
