How far back we’ve sunk…

Listening to NPR yesterday brought back the horribleness of the sixties… they played audio of RFK talking about the inequality in this country, the racism and class system that he wanted to address. And then he was killed. Anyone who thinks it wasn’t the right wingers of this country that killed him is an idiot. Guess who was president next? NIXON! RFK was bent on bringing the disparate groups in this country together and dealing with the systemic racism etc…and here we are today.

We have a demented psychopath/narcisist running who wants to be king and a supreme court who wants to take us back to the 1700’s. Class problems are worse than ever — book bans, women’s rights down the toilet. Corporations in charge. How about we start burning witches again too? Nothing would surprise me these days with a congress barely functioning with members who took part in an insurrection and a man running who caused the insurrection. Hello? Where are we? This is certainly NOT a democracy. You can’t call a country a democracy when half the country is under the thumbs of men. Nor an immigration system that is nothing but a prison.

When you look at the state of the country you can think back to how it’s happened. I am not normally a conspiracy theorist but this smacks of more than coincidence that we lost all these progressive leaders in such a short time — the people who dared speak the truth…
