Of course, as is ALWAYS the case with the Democratic party, Manchin is nothing more than the convenient rotating villain. There is absolutely nothing stopping Joe Biden from telling Joe Manchin that either he gets on board, or he goes to West Virginia and holds a rally promising support to a primary challenger who would support this legislation. There is nothing stopping Biden from going to West Virginia on a weekly basis and holding rallies urging the citizens to pressure Manchin to vote for this bill. The way all of this is unfolding speaks to not only the type of individual Manchin is at his core, but Biden’s complete and utter incapability to lead his caucus. Either that, or he never really cared about the climate legislation to begin with.
