Normalizing craziness
As we go deeper and deeper into chaos, I wonder…will we ever come out of this phase we’re in? I now read articles that don’t even bother calling out the crazy. It’s as though all of it has just become part of the day to day workings of the United States. We have a congress filled with people who condoned an insurrection and refused to certify our election of Biden. They are still there touting their conspiracy theories and calling for the death of Nancy Pelosi. These are our elected officials who preside over our laws! How is this okay?
We have republican led legislatures across the country who are hard at work to limit our voting process. Supreme Court upheld this. We cannot for the life of us get a voting rights bill through. We have men in the Senate who have been called out by women for the sexual predators they are. Do they get prosecuted or even censored? NO.
We have a group of nutcases in Arizona recounting votes for the presidential election that was held 10 months ago and that have been recounted ad nauseum. Other states may take this up. We have republicans in states who are want partisan panels who after an election can decide that if they don’t like the outcome they can do recount after recount. Where does that leave us? It leaves us in a very precarious place. And this is doubly bad when our supreme court refuses to stop these weird laws from being pushed through. Is…
