Our collective shadow

Trouble is at the moment we are deeply held within the shadow side. The light is buried under a blanket of hate. Trump and Trumpism is what we’ve been heading toward for a long time as a country. We are unable to see both sides of our collective nature — to do so would put us in balance. We would understand what has gone before and choose the best in us instead of the worst. Instead we have a bunch of climate deniers, (amongst other things) who are attempting to erase our dark history. Dark skinned people, and those who are slightly different from the mainstream whites, plus women are all being subjugated. And many are being sent out of the country, even if they are legally here. We are not allowed as individuals to disapprove of this crazy man and his crazy cohorts who are taking over and want everything we have to go to the wealthiest among us — the 1%. These people want to take away everything from the 99% and give it to those who don’t need it. They want to privatize everything so they can make money — not to benefit us, but to benefit the billionaires. This country was supposed to be a melting pot where people in trouble could come for sanctuary, a place where everyone was accepted. How far we have fallen…

Is it our country that represents our collective shadow? Trump may be the focal point, but our country is the source. He is only a symptom of a deep wound that has festered. Think back on our…
