OUTRAGEOUS!

Just heard on NPR that Apple is planning to scan iphones for child pornography. How could anything possibly go wrong with that plan? What the hell??? I’m all for catching these dudes, but keep your mitts off my data!! This is a disturbing new trend that is making me consider getting an android phone.

What has happened to our privacy? They already know our every shopping whim, and show us ads with those things displayed. (Siri and Alexa are listening) Now they want more access? And what happens when some poor sap has a few pictures of their naked baby on their phone? The possibilities of this going awry are too many to even think about. And isn’t this a job for the justice department? Since when do private companies start sifting through our stuff to determine if we are criminals? After 9/11 Verizon was one of the few who refused to turn over data, but in the end they folded like a pack of cards. All in the name of safety. Frankly I prefer privacy.

A company that plans this kind of thing is not a company I want to do business with. AND it shouldn’t be allowed!!!!! How is it allowed? Will all the corporations begin invading our lives? Or should I say invade them even more than they are now.

I have always thought Apple to be a great company with good products, and excellent customer service. Talk about ‘big brother is watching you’. That was Ma Bell, now it’s Apple. UGH.

In my real life I’m a fantasy/mystery author. What I’ve written so far on Medium have been political opinion pieces. But that is changing!
