Pollyanna?

Am I a pollyanna for thinking that our populace will not succumb to the blocks to voting the GOP are putting into place? Someone — one of the pundits whose name escapes me, thinks that when threatened, the people in this country will refuse to be thwarted. Make it harder to vote? They will come out in droves and stand in lime forever if necessary. Remember Obama? That was crazy long lines. And Biden too, for that matter.

Pollyanna aside, I think it’s appalling what’s going on right now. But I also think that when push comes to shove, this crapo they’re pulling will come back to bite the GOP. Our democracy is founded on the right to vote, and despite the early days, this right has been strengthened over the years. Taking us back to before the civil war will not work. And the feds, if need be, will step in if things get drastically out of hand. Trump is deluded — a sick man. Just because he refuses to admit he lost doesn’t mean his followers will continue to follow him. Already his blog has been shut down due to lack of readers. Most people don’t thrive on hate and lies. Over sixty % of this country is behind Biden and his plans.

However, we have three major problems. One is Citizens United, an ill-conceived decision by the supreme court that has changed how our elections are funded. And this was before we got 3 more conservative judges! Dark money flowing in and never checked, is not a good thing…
