The Border Wall Redux
I thought it was fake news when I read in The Economist that Biden was continuing the border wall. It is more than disheartening after he said unequivocally that he would not build one more foot of it. And it came out of left field since he hasn’t breathed a word of it. I have perused several news articles about this and got the feeling that maybe this was in response to Mark Kelly, the candidate running for senate from Arizona. Mark is in favor of the wall — I knew a year ago that I didn’t like this man, but without his seat we are one step closer to losing the senate. So is Biden sacrificing his principles for Mark? I put this on Facebook and several people told me this was fake news…but in reality I think he has authorized closing some gaps that existed. I don’t know exactly how to look at this.
Why is it that we cannot come up with an immigration policy? This situation has been going on for decades now. And now we have ICE…I assume they are still in play, the ones who have separated children from their parents? The entire situation has lost all coherence with people being caged and horrible stories about abuses etc…I have come to the conclusion that not solving these problems suits both parties — a way to fund raise, for one thing. Look at the homeless situation — same damn thing that no one seems able to do much about. Oregon may get a Republican governor because of the problems up there.
