The Cult of Personality and Mitch McConnell…

So, good ole’ Mitch has openly declared that the Republican party has NO platform. He is leaving it up the cult leader who comes into power in 2024… I looked up leaders who fit this description and I came up with: Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Mao Zedong, to name just three. How can a party with no platform continue? I guess you have to ask the millions of people who voted for Trump and will vote for him again if he decides to run. McConnell hated him for a while but now he’s all for it.

What I’ve heard recently is that Trump isn’t planning to run, he just says he is so he can continue to rake in the bucks — he has court cases to defend against and lawyers to pay, you know. This does not sound legal but I doubt it will be challenged by anyone. Need I say that we need an entirely new congress, term limits, money out of politics and to get rid of Citizens United? Corporations are NOT people. Not to mention voting rights. The Republicans actually used the filibuster to keep us from passing the John Lewis voting rights act. We have another chance for the HR 1 bill, but it’s getting close to the wire now. Does anyone with half a brain question voting against making sure everyone who wants to can vote?

And don’t get me started on everything else that has gone off the rails in our country. If anyone seriously thinks that these guys will pull us…

In my real life I’m a fantasy/mystery author. What I’ve written so far on Medium have been political opinion pieces. But that is changing!
