The Shadow that Haunts us

What I see is that our country is carrying this shadow side. We do not want to face who we are and who we have been. We decry racism and yet it exists right in front of us. We say that every person is equal and then shut out women and black-skinned and brown-skinned people. Until we confront the past we are bound to continue repeating it — over and over and over. And our past is not pretty.

We are now living within our shadow, an election that was brought about because of those in the country who have not faced who they are and are unable to understand what they’ve voted for. We will continue to choose people to lead us who are morally bankrupt until we become whole. How do we do that?

Maybe bringing down our system is a good thing. Maybe chaos leads into light. We won’t know until it happens. My take on it is that we’ve been heading in this direction for a very long time. And we finally reached the pinnacle. To come out the other side will take a lot of courage. Many of our so-called leaders are now part of a cult, and the ones who aren’t will most likely go along just so they won’t be hurt in the process. It is a scary time.

We have been a Corporatocracy for some time. Corporations will have to be pushed back and not allowed to make our laws. To do that we will have to change the way our leaders are elected. In other words go back to the time…

In my real life I’m a fantasy/mystery author. What I’ve written so far on Medium have been political opinion pieces. But that is changing!
