There are so many good people who could run--my top pick is Gretchen Whitmer--there's also the governor of Washington, Marianne, as you mentioned, and several who I wish would run but probably are too smart to take on such a thankless job, like Sheldon Whitehouse. I really don't understand why we are getting more conservative as each election cycle goes by...with a divided congress we will never move forward, even with a democrat in the presidency. With this supreme court in for life I've all but given up--especially on women's rights and civil rights as well as gun violence--if we had a decent SC we'd be in a much better position. As far as Newsom, there are too many here who don't like him. I truly hope Bernie does not run--that man will die trying to make this country a better place.
