TRUMP’S Continuing Influence

With the impeachment in full swing and Republican senators unprecedented meeting with Trump’s lawyers, it seems that constitutional law and democracy have been cast aside. I am so outraged by this despicable display of sycophancy. I had actually hoped that once this pig of a man was out of office that the GOP would come back to its senses. I was wrong. What happens to a party that decides that instead of standing up for its citizens, backs a mafioso dictator who isn’t even in the presidency anymore?

What I hope and pray is that this cult filled with crazy domestic terrorists and conspiracy theorists will be overshadowed by those of us who believe in our democracy and think more of our constitution than a piece of paper that can be interpreted to mean whatever they decide it means. Our founders had a method to their madness. They saw the possibility of a Trump-like person and set up the ability to impeach so that our congress, who are supposed to be looking out for US, would have the ability to stand up for what is right. Any morality they ever had is certainly gone now. Are they all sociopaths? narcissists? It seems that maybe they are.

The only thing that can save us now is the justice department or private lawsuits who will take this man to court for the crimes he’s committed. Which are many. What Congressman Ted Lieu said bears repeating — he is not afraid of Trump…

In my real life I’m a fantasy/mystery author. What I’ve written so far on Medium have been political opinion pieces. But that is changing!
