Where do we end up?

There is no point in reiterating what is happening right now around the globe. What we need to decide is once this is over, where do we go from here? Do we continue with the same ol’ same ol’ or do we change it up, reboot, decide on something different? I hate to even say this outloud, but I fear that our chosen Democratic candidate for president is not up to what’s required at this particular moment in time. I worry that the ‘powers that be’ have chosen him because they fear the more progressive approach. They think, or rather they thought, that a middle of the road attitude would gather more support. But now?

Now we are in crisis mode — all hands on deck, so to speak. What our government is doing is radical and progressive, and dare I say it? Socialist. Yes, my friends, bailing out the country is socialism. And yet two months ago we were terrified of the very word, much less the candidate who touted it. But now it is too late. We’ve made our choice.

In a crisis people need a leader who stands up and reassures them — gives them hope and offers empathy and helpful information — true information, not made up lies that only cause more chaos. And yet in all of this, I do not see the one candidate who should be out there every day, tearing down the lies, and offering the science — the truth. I worry that he’s sick. I worry that he thinks that being a gentleman is more important than…
